Our Property

Highfields is a thoughtfully designed retreat set amid the rolling hills of Northeast Ohio, just minutes from Cuyahoga Valley National Park. Grounded in sustainability and community, the property blends natural beauty with timeless design. Every element—from the curated landscape to the architectural details—reflects a commitment to intentional living, elegance, and connection to the land. The atmosphere is both serene and refined, offering an ideal setting for meaningful, unforgettable gatherings.

Design Vision & Inspiration

The vision for Highfields began with a deep appreciation for meaningful gatherings—both indoors and out. During time spent in the English countryside, the owner explored estates and event spaces that blended natural beauty with refined architectural design. These experiences shaped a desire to create something similar back home: a venue where guests could move effortlessly between open-air terraces, garden pathways, and modern interiors. Through months of research, she discovered visual inspirations—images of warm wood structures, open breezeways, and architecture that honored its surroundings. These references helped guide the design of Highfields into what it is today: a place where nature and structure exist in balance, and every celebration feels both elevated and grounded.

Then & Now

Since 1959, the Kuryla family has owned the property where Highfields now stands. They tended livestock and made a life around raising horses for recreational enjoyment. Preserving the mature woods, taking advantage of open space and remembering the past as we design for the future has been a part of the vision for Highfields Event Center since the beginning. These family photos from the 60's capture the essence of the beautiful wooded property and natural private setting for what is now an elegant wedding and meeting venue site all conveniently located in Hudson, Ohio.

Level One Venue

Just steps from Highfields, Level One is a versatile space ideal for bridal showers, baby showers, rehearsal dinners, and corporate gatherings. With a climate-controlled interior, outdoor terrace, and flexible indoor-outdoor layout, Level One is perfect for DIY events of all kinds. The space features modern rustic charm, blending exposed natural architecture with a neutral palette for an atmosphere of relaxed elegance. An open floor plan and south-facing windows flood the room with natural light and offer sweeping views of the surrounding landscape. Sustainable landscaping throughout the property enhances the setting, making it a unique and beautiful backdrop for your next celebration or event.
